With 20.000 attendees, 900 exhibitors from 60 countries and more than 290.000 square feet exhibition space WEFTEC is one of the largest exhibition for water and wastewater treatment in USA.

2011 the exhibition took place from Oct 15 – 19 in Los Angeles, California.
As one of the world’s leading supplier for water and wastewater technology Ovivo were also present at WEFTEC 2011.

In August 2011, the foundation for an new partnership between Cleartec Water Management GmbH und Ovivo Water was laid. WEFTEC 2011 enabled the first joint presence at the US-market.

Modification and upgrading of WWTP Regnitzlosau and Meierhof with textile fixed bed from Marktrodach

Cleartec Water Management GmbH from Marktrodach now equipped two regional WWTP’s with textile fixed bed for biological wastewater treatment.The manufacturer of technical textiles Langendorf founded the subsidiary Cleartec in 2005. Since then system Cleartec® Biotextil were installed in more than 30 municipal and industrial WWTP’s, especially in Switzerland, Italy, Spain and USA.

Functionality of Cleartec® Biotextil

Cleartec® Biotextil provides combined process in biological stage of WWTP. Biofilms (combination of different microorganisms) are used for wastewater treatment in biological stage. Fitted in stainless steel cages and supported by enough oxygen Cleartec® Biotextil offers these microorganisms ideal conditions for growth. Microorganisms consume pollutants and thus provides treatment of wastewater.

High treatment efficiency despite small space

Two weeks ago Cleartec started with first regional upgrading of WWTP Meierhof, Münchberg. The plant doesn’t reach the required treatment efficiency with previous configuration. The system Cleartec® Biotextil offers the perfect solution for this constricted room. Due to created virtual volume you be able to reach much more treatment efficiency with small space than before.

Upgrading WWTP Regnitzlosau

Cleartec® Biotextil was also installed in WWTP Regnitzlosau last week. The aim is increasing treatment efficiency. Pollutation load of wastewater is originated from industry, commerce and population served. By using Cleartec® Biotextil in the future the efficiency of plant is increased. Therefore Cleartec® Biotextil is qualified for increasing capacity without structural extension.

Additionally to regional projects further plants in UK and Tunisia will be equipped with textile fixed in this year.

Turkish experts were informed about Cleartec

On the occasion of Wolrd Water Day on March 22, 2011 a conference in Istanbul was only dedicated for the topic “water”.
Additionally to lectures presented by Turkish experts the system Cleartec® with all its possibilities and potentiality for Turkey could also be demonstrated.
The conference takes place in the meeting rooms of the famous soccer club BESKTASI Istanbul and were visited by both planner and regional politicians.
Our partner HEITEC works intensively with interested people on the first Cleartec-plant in Turkey.

Visitation at WwTP Kelleramt raise great interest

Together with representatives of wasterwater association region Müllheim and representatives of the responsible office for environment employee of a Swiss engineering office visited WwTP Kelleramt in Unterlunkhofen, Switzerland. Due to an upgrading in 2007 WwTP Kelleramt was equipped with Cleartec® Biotextil. Especially positive performance tests during normal and low temperatures show the successful operation of the system. The operating results are excellent.

Background of the visit are the upgrade plans of wasterwater association region Müllheim for a WwTP, in which Cleartec® Biotextil should be installed as carrier for micro organism. The visitation was concluded with a panel, where the visitors show great interest in the system Cleartec® Biotextil.

Anglian Water visit Cleartec

In the middle of Octobre a group of employees of water company Anglian Water set out together with the Cleartec partner company Hydrok for Germany to experience Cleartec® Biotextil.

The system isn’t unknown for Anglian Water. In several meetings with Hydrok and in part with Cleartec the product features were explained in detail. A group of Anglian Water also visited the HY-SAF Open Days in Crewkerne in September.

As Anglian Water plan refurbishment of a big plant they gratefully accepted the offer to visit the production of Cleartec® Biotextil and a reference plant in Germany.

After a short introduction the visit of production occured at first. The machine, with which Cleartec® Biotexil is produced, could be examined detailed. The responsible employee answered every question regarding quality assurance and the like. Afterwards the group moved to WwTP Marktrodach, where the container plant Blue Max operates in bypass at the moment. Different test are performed there, which should induce a further optimization of the product.

At next a trip to Lahnstein was planned on the following day. After a short refreshment stop the Central WWTP Lahnstein-Braubach was visited. One of the cages equipped with Cleartec® Biotextil was lifted out of the basin with a truck crane and contemplated by all visitors. Therefore everybody was able to assure themselves of the intact biotextiles also after a few years in the aeration basin and the sufficient biomass growth. The staff of the WwTP answered all questions about operation, operating data and (not existing) problems with the biotextil.
